In an unexpected twist to the 50 Cent and The Game tiff the two used an opportunity to give back to the community to reconcile their differences.

The carefully orchestrated press conference at Harlem’s Schomburg Center was set up as an event to give money to the struggling Harlem Boys Choir. The event was hosted by the director of The Schomburg Center, Howard Johnson.

The Choir has been around for 30 plus years and they have performed in theaters and at events all over the world. It was noted that not only is the program great for music but it is also an excellent educational institution. The Boys Choir of Harlem and the Choir Academy for the past 5 years has been graduating 95% of its students on to college. This year however 100% of the graduating class graduated with 100% of the graduating class accepted to college and 80% of them received scholarships.

However, even with the school’s success and the program’s success the school has been facing a culmination of financial problems. They have outstanding debts that must be paid as well as new responsibilities that continue to arise. It was not mentioned how mush money was needed but, it was said that they were in “deep financial need.”

The founder of the Harlem Boys Choir, Dr. Walter J. Turner, who started the Boys Choir in 1968 as a small church choir was present at the press conference and accepted the donations. Jayceon Taylor, a.k.a. The Game and Curtis Jackson a.k.a. 50 Cent were presented to the audience and although they never smiled or even looked at each other they declared that they had announced a truce.

“We’re here to sow that people can rise above even the most difficult circumstances and together we can put negativity behind us,” said 50 Cent. “Overall I feel this is an opportunity to see us make peace. This will benefit more than just the immediate people involved, The Harlem Boys Choir and Compton’s Unified School District Music Program will benefit from this too.”

“On behalf of myself, and 50, we’re here to show that you can control your destiny and I’m control my destiny in a positive way,” The Game added. “I just want to apologize for myself, on behalf of 50 Cent, the fans, the radio stations our labels. I’m almost ashamed to have participated in the things that went on in the last couple of weeks.”

The two gun toting bullet proof wearing rappers left all the crap at home and came bearing huge checks. 50 contributed a $150, 000 check through his G-Unity Foundation and The Game contributed $103,000.
Dr. Turner thanked the two on behalf of himself, his staff and the students some of whom were present.
50 Cent and The Game ended the press conference with a hand shake and a half hug showing signs that even the greatest beef can come peace.
