We hate it, we turn our noses up at it, yet we can’t
resist the urge to listen and spread it. Yes, it’s
gossip! I know you’re thinking, “Why is HarlemLive
helping the tabloid industry with their gossip?” Yet,
you’re still reading this, so you’re no better!
Now, let’s get down to business and start this new
gossip column of HarlemLive, what I would like to call Spread
the Word!, the HarlemLive version of the Wendy Williams
show! (Well, I wouldn’t exactly call myself Wendy
Williams; I’m no crack addict and not everyone in
the world hates my guts.) Anyway, let’s get to it,
shall we?!
A rumor is floating around that R&B singer Jonny Gill
and actor Eddie Murphy are together on some ‘down-low’
type relationship, based on a recent picture seen of the
two walking together. They weren’t kissing, hugging
nor gazing at each other lovingly, yet they were walking
very closely. It’s hard to base the possibility of
a relationship between two people on a mere picture, and
a picture taken by the paparazzi at that (we know that paparazzi
and tabloids will make up anything about stars just to make
that cheddar!) However, Gill felt the need to clarify the
rumor and told AOL Black Voices, “I am 100 percent
all man.” Whatever that means!
We all have seen socialite Nicole Richie and wondered, “What
kind of diet plan is she on? The face-in-the-toilet-bowl
diet plan, perhaps?” Yet, her daddy, has-been Lionel
Richie, says otherwise. He told Star magazine that she’s
“under a lot of stress right now and that’s
why she’s lost weight.” Hmm, I guess that her
new weight loss has nothing to do with the drug addiction
she had two years ago. Richie’s father also added
“she’s just feeling a little bit of the pressures
of her new business.” Sure she is! With her engagement
to her other fiancé, Adam Goldstein, emphasis on
the word other and her new book The Truth About Diamonds,
which could be categorized with Superhead. We don’t
need to go there!
According to AllHipHop.com, word is going around that rapper
50 Cent might be trying the movie acting thing again, with
Nicolas Cage! This probably isn’t a good move for
an amateur actor whose first movie was based on his life
and deserved a maximum of maybe two measly stars. But hey,
if at first you don’t succeed, try again! Speaking
of movies, actor Chris Tucker, a real actor, may be making
his comeback from a four-year break with a trilogy of “Rush
Hour.” Good seeing Tucker back in the industry, but
if I see Jackie Chan in another corny movie, it’ll
be too soon!
And, for the finale, there is a picture of former TV personality-turned-rapper
Free that shows her with a thin belly. In other words, the
rumors of her laying up in Methodist Hospital up in Park
Slope with a bun in the oven and rapper Jay-Z by her side
are not true! Speaking of pregnant, rumors are going around
that actress Halle Berry possibly may be pregnant with her
boyfriend, fine blue-eyed actor Michael Ealy’s baby.
However, this is the thing about rumors: we don’t
know the truthfulness behind them. The most we can do is
go by what we hear until we hear them straight from the
