Thank you, Mr. Kidd.
Thank you. The Knicks provided lack luster basketball for 82 games. The Rangers and Islanders went relatively nowhere. The Jets and Giants were as successful as Mariah Careys movie, Glitter. Baseball season just started and thirty games into the season, both the Yankees and Mets arent playing up to their potential, and salaries for that matter. Maybe Ill go watch Spiderman. At least there are the New Jersey Nets. Jason Kidds New Jersey Nets. Byron Scott and co. have coached the team well, but its Jasons team. It has been the whole season, and will continue to be for the rest of their playoff run. |

When it comes to Jason
Kidd, it isnt a matter of statistics. Kidd will easily give up a
few extra points for the victory. Unlike his predecessor, Stephon Marbury,
Kidd is an unselfish player that helps an offense flourish. His ability
to scan the court and communicate with his teammates is part of the reason
the Nets won a franchise high, 52 games. As good as he is, Jason Kidd isnt the only reason why the Nets are a good team this year. The Nets didnt have one superstar that scored 30 points per game. Heck, they didnt have one star score 20 ppg for that matter. Instead, they have four players who average double digit points per game, and seven players over nine ppg. Good seasons by rookie Richard Jefferson, Kerry Kittles, and Kenyon Martin gave the Nets a good chance to win against anybody. |
||
The Nets didnt lose just 30 games because of a good offense though. With toughness and size inside, and quick hands on the perimeter, the Nets have a dominating team defense. The addition of Todd MacCulloch gave the Nets much needed size. Todd isnt flashy, but consistent. Kenyon Martin adds toughness and an aggressive style of defense. Jason Kidd also leads the team with 175 steals. The Nets, once again, dont have a dominant star to provide defensively. But, their team defense allowed them to disrupt their opponents strengths.
Theres no question why the Nets are the top seed in the Eastern conference. The combination of a swarming defense and a fast paced offense have powered the Nets through their competition. In the middle of everything, Jason Kidd stands controlling his team. He might not be the NBAs most valuable player, but he surely is the Nets MVP.
