Little About The Interviewees...
Reuben
Quansah is a stellar graduate of Cardinal Hayes HS and is currently
involved in ABL (Archbishop's Leadership Program), an organization that
serves to foster leadership and community awareness within a group of
handpicked parochial school students. He was also recently featured
in The New York Times under an article
entitled "Preparing Applications, Fine-Tuning Applicants,"
in which he was followed for a series of months for his scholastic/college
application process. Check

Christen
Walker-James is the co-author of the upcoming book, "What I
Know Is Me" (HarlemMoon/DoubleDay 2003), an aggregation of short
stories, poems, essays, and other literary works by young African-American
females. She is also the CO-chair of The Youth Outreach Jubilee Committee,
which is currently examining how to distribute its 2.5 million dollar
budget to organizations that benefit youth throughout the Harlem community.

Shawn
Stewart has been a journalist for Harlem Overheard, a Harlem-based
youth newspaper for two years. He's currently a junior @ Fordham Prep
and, for the past year, has also been involved in the New York State
Youth Leadership & Service Council.
Katrina
S. is a member of her school's Honor Society, takes piano &
music theory @ Brooklyn/Queens Conservatory for Music, and is a mentor
for elementary school children in a bilingual comprehension program
called "Bumblebee." She's also served on the campaign committee
for Mayor Bloomberg back in Fall of 2001.
Christopher
Coes is the Vice President of NYRA
(National Youth Rights Association), the largest and most comprehensive
youth rights organization in the country. He's an upcoming sophomore
@ St. John's University and has served as Youth NAACP President, Legislative
Assistant Aide for his US Congressman, and 2nd District Youth President
in Thomas County, GA. Currently, you can catch him in school as RHA
(Reisdent Hall Association) Prez, or out of school, giving one of his
many presentations on both political and youth-oriented issues. Check
