For
less than three months, the Hue-Man bookstore has held the title
as the leading and only black owned bookstore in and servicing the
Harlem community. Showcasing books from a variety of black authors
and Genres, the Hue-Man bookstore has rendered a great service
to this once literature deprived community. Marketing off of the
hype generated by the store, hip-hop guru and veteran Doug E. Fresh
has chosen the store to kick off the launch of his new childrens
book Think Again.
The story tells the tale of two kids who dislike each other because
of their differences. They soon realize they have more in common
than they thought, and that color is only skin deep. I wrote
this book because I think children are beautiful and I believe tolerance
for diversity is one of the most valuable lessons you can teach
a child.-Commented Doug E.
The book is the first in a series of revolutionary Read & Rap-Along-Long
childrens stories written by rap stars. Intended for children
between the ages of 4 and 10,the books include a two-track CD single
written and performed by the Stars. The CD features a song version
of the story followed by a music-only track that the kids can read
and rap along to. Artist such as LL Cool J, Common, and Shaggy have
already signed on to have their books published.
