The protest march across the Brooklyn Bridge had a multicultural crowd of Blacks, Whites, Jews, Latino's, Asian's dedicated to justice and reconciliation. They hoped that the march will help send a message not only to the mayor of New York City but to the rest of the world that police brutality has to stop and will not be tolerated. According to a senior citizen protesting, "The police are here to protect us, when something happens to you the police are the first people you call so we have to respect them. But when they overstep their boundaries then we have to put them in line".
