Dr.
Luz Claudio is a practicing neurotoxicologist in the Environmental Medicine
Department at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. She is a graduate of Albert Einstein
Medical School and is originally from Puerto Rico. Her position at Mt.
Sinai allows her to travel extensively. Some places she's visited are
Italy, Costa Rica, and Cuba. A significant amount of her time is spent
writing grants for the research she does along with Maria Tricoche who
is also featured here. No matter how busy she is, she always takes time
with the many students she has in her labs. Along with one of these studens,
Leon Tulton , Dr. Claudio published a paper in
the Journal of Asthma
that proved that the incidence of asthma was higher in lower income neighborhoods.
This along with many other community studies is Dr. Claudio's way of giving
