Telemarketers Tremble

After a long day of school or work, you're finally home. You come in, change into your house clothes and are ready to sit back and relax. Just as you're about to watch television or eat your dinner, the phone rings. You pick up the phone and come to find that it's those pesky telemarketers, trying to sell you stuff you don't need.

Well, New York State has a service that allows you to put yourself on a list, so when telemarketers call they are fined a considerable amount of money. We went to the streets to get the reactions of people on this fairly new service.

If you would like to put yourself on the list call 1-800-NYS-1220. The number might be busy. (A reminder this is only for New York State.)

What do you think of telemarketers? I think telemarketers are annoying.

What do you think about the service, and have you used it? I like the service, and I have already used it.

Have you ever bought something from a telemarketer? Yes, actually... a magazine.

How do you get rid of them? I usually say I'm not interested.

What is the rudest you have ever been to a telemarketer? The rudest? A stern no and I hang up.
