Money, sex, music, drugs, and fashion define the life of an aggressive girl from the projects in Brooklyn. In the sophomore effort from Sister Souljah "The Coldest Winter Ever". Fear runs through the blood of Winter, the young protagonist and all that step into her family's presence. Why? , Because her father Santana runs the largest drug game in their part of town. Long hair, smooth skin and the envy of the neighborhood describe Winter. She gets her hair in the hottest styles every week and only wears the newest Fendi, Prada, and Donna Karyn. Unlimited shopping sprees and buying things the average person can not afford in a lifetime and could not pronounce. At the age of 15 years old she can be more explicit in the bedroom than Lil' Kim and turn tricks for brain faster than a doorknob. She gets what she wants by any means necessary. Winter, like her name, can be as fierce as a storm or as beautiful as peaceful winter day. This book is a graphic description of how life can treat you when the right moves are made and how it can stab you in the back and twist the knife when you make the wrong ones. I feel that people of all ages can relate to this book but mostly those who are teenagers. This is because Winter is also a teenager and shows what happens when one gives into the temptation that haunt the youth of today. For all these reasons I recommend this book, it is a real page turner it took me three days to read this awesome book. Winter is living the life that many people idealize but this all changes when.opps, I can't tell you everything so go read "The Coldest Winter Ever" by Sister Souljah. Peace. |
