Love Come Down, The second feature indie film from director Clement Virgo is one of the best films to come out in a long time. Love Come Down is the gripping tale of two brothers one black, one white and Matthew (Martin Cummins) and the family tragedy that continues to haunt them.

Neville, the struggling comedian and drug junkie fights throughout the film to overcome his fear of drugs and find true love. Along the way he meets Niko (Deborah Cox) a young singer searching for her own past and someone to make her laugh. But Neville’s troubles stem more from his family than anything. Enters his brother Matthew, an angry boxer with demons that force him into a harsh relationship with everyone and everything that confronts him.

The cast is nothing short of brilliant, Larenz Tate is flawless and Deborah Cox turns out to be a wonderful surprise in her film debut. Director Clement Virgo is a breath of fresh air in this overly commercial moment of filmmaking. Bringing the same unique and different approach to film the same way that Spike Lee did with Mo’ Better Blues. Virgo is one director not to be missed.
