Hello, my name is Cameron, and I will be your Music Editor this evening. I'd talking to you about my life, but I seriously don't feel like it (just know that i was born in L.A., and have lived in Chicago, St. Lucia, Cannes (French Riviera), Paris, France and NYC). My job is to keep the Harlem Live Music page lookin' fine, with sexy interviews from your favorite artists, reviews of the hottest albums, and all that! Instead of the regular droning information, here's some musical profiling on moi:
Favorite bands: Way too many to list. But here is a glimpse:
Garbage, Nirvana, Pavement, Elastica, the Ramones, Patti Smith Group, the Verve, Ash, the Pixies, Blur, Mommy and Daddy, the Beatles, the Damned, the White Stripes, New Order, the Libertines, Coldplay, the Hives, the Breeders, the Strokes, the Cure, Bright Eyes, Desaparecidos (anything Conor Oberst)... and the list goes ooooooooon.
Patti Smith Horses
Blur Best Of
Bob Dylan Greatest Hits (the first one)
Smashing Pumpkins Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Buffalo Daughter I
Fiona Apple Tidal
the Breeders Last Splash
"Velouria" by the Pixies is a classic... actually, I adore all single-take videos, such as "Is This Love" by P.J. Harvey (or "Good Fortunes" for that matter). "Yellow" by Coldplay, "Come on" by the Black Crowes... but few can surpass the coolness of Frank Black running around in super slow motion over a pile of rocks. The Ramones "Rock N' Roll High School" is also a favorite... along with "Smack My Bitch Up" by The Prodigy. Ooh, and "Novocaine for the Soul" by eels.
Hole : I spend most of my time on this site's message board. Who just yelled "Dork!" ?
Pixies : Cool Pixies retro site. Yummy pictures. Mmm.
Operation Ivy : The dank depths of Berkeley where ska was born. Love every second.
HarMarSuperstar : Saucy electro R&B from a white dude in his underwear. If your not there already, click the link, goddammit!
The Boxes : Really cool punk pop from really cool punk pop chicks! download "The Rich Kid", then shake your booty.
Mommy and Daddy : The band I have been raving about for, oh, I don't know, EVER! There are no adjectives to describe them, so just check out the site.
Pitchfork : Great for daily music news. The reviews are a bit pretentious though, but overall a good site.
J.T. LeRoy : My favorite author. Read "Sarah". He just started a band too, called Thistle.
The White Stripes : Because you know you want to.
Suicide Girls : It's not porn. It's erotica. I'm not a prev. I swear. Just... click it. You know you want to. Click it.
