Aloha! My name is Gem Ross and I am 16 years old and I am Grenadian, Irish and Portuguese. I currently attend Edward R. Murrow high school. I have lots of energy (I practically bounce off the walls), I'm spontaneous, very passionate about the things I love, and creatively colorful, which I feel are a lovely combination. Word of Harlem Live reached my ear through the Summer Youth Organization, in their efforts to find a summer job for me doing what I enjoy doing most, media/television and journalism. I am one of the hosts of Flex N Brooklyn, a popular talent showcase aired on the Brooklyn access channel (BCAT) and am also a Murrow Unity stepper and a monologue award winner in the 2005 IMTA. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my friends, shop, read, act, and watch movies. My career goals are to eventually produce and host television shows for the MTV network. |
