Hi, I'm Elaine, What a wonderful benefit to be able to give back. Working with the students here at HarlemLive allows me to do just that. I'm so fortunate to be in "the mix" with tomorrow's leaders. I grew up in the South Bronx with a desire to write. After graduating from the State University at Binghamton I got a job as a general assignment reporter for a Black owned wire service called Trans-Urban News that later became the City-Sun Newspaper. (Speaking Truth to Power ) Presently, I adjudicate disability claims for the Social Security Administration as a Disability Analyst/Hearing Officer.
