Daniel Ignatoff
Intern

Hi, my name is Daniel Ignatoff. I've lived in the Bronx since I was sevenish. I was really upseat when my family and I moved from our one bedroom apartment in manhattan, but the two *extra bedrooms soon qualmed my issues. I live on the eighth floor, my train station is a platform raised two stories above ground, and I'm scared of heights (not a pleasant combination).

My family and I share our apartment with the cat. She pretty much has exclusive control over the house, that is, while everyone else is out. And if we scorn her, she exacts her punishment. Often, this is in the form of some mischeif or another (once she jumped on me from the top of a door!). I go to the Beacon School. Its on west 61st, near Laguardia and Lincoln Center. For a while, I was thinking about trying for Styvesant, but when I went to look at the school, I saw that it was good at created a well educated student, but it seemed to only teach the Regents.

I go to the Beacons School, because it uses the portfolio system. I think that this system allows the teachers to better evaluate the work and knowledge of the subject material.

I've been working with omputers for as long as I can remember. When I was really young, my parents had a really "powerful" 286 running DOS (well, it was powerful for back then) and almost no RAM. For a while, my family had four working computers. Now, my sister has a relatively new one at college (she started this year), my computer (a steal back in '98) and my parent's second. My parent's computer is so old, it is still running windows 3.1 and can only access E-mail through a slower-than 14.4K modem from a now non-existant company. I'm now on my second computer. My parents spoiled me some when I was younger, getting me my first computer when I was about eleven.
