Contents for this Tutorial:

If you just need quick access to a phone number, use the database on the our site. It can be found at http://www.harlemlive.org/contacts.html

First go to the Harlem server:

You want to open the File that looks like this:

Which is inside the Folder called Contacts, within HarlemLive Org, Within HarlemLive.

Once you double click on the C & B file, it will either look something like this:

or this:

The way to choose between the two is under the "LAYOUT" menu.

Columns will just show basic info, whereas Notes On Line will be fuller, and allow you an area to type notes when you are calling the person.

If you are searching for a name already on the list, you will want to use the Find command, or Apple-F (also under the edit menu)

Type in the name you are looking for and hit RETURN key
on the keyboard or the Find Next button

The name you were searching for will be found.

You can also scroll through the different records with the tool in the upper left hand corner by dragging the little tab or by clicking on the images of the index cards. (try it!!)

Once you call someone (see phonescript), you can then write what happened when you called them in the notes section: (If you don't see the notes section, or the layout doesn't look like the picture below, you need to change the layout. Look HERE)

Make sure you save any changes:

If you are adding a New record, Type Apple-R or use New Record under the Edit menu.

Depending on what Layout you are in

 You will see either :

Or This

After entering the appropriate data (Name, Organization, phone, email, etc.), you want to organize it by Clicking Apple-J and then Click RETURN key or the Okay Button

and always save your changes:
