An image map allows areas of a picture to be links to other web pages.

Begin by inserting an image into your web page by clicking on the tool that looks like the following and then choosing the image that you want to put into your web page.

Double click on the image and you'll see the following dialog box if you are using Claris Home Page 3.0: Click on the Behavior Tab.

Then you'll see the following box. Select Image Map button and then click EDIT...

Then you'll see the image inside another box with tools at the top and a red line around the image.

Select the rectangular or circle tool in the top left corner.

Next, drag the mouse around the 'Hot Area' on the image that you want to be a link. Once you let go of the mouse, you'll see the Link Editor at which point you'll want to either use the Browse Files.. button to link to a web page on the site, or write in the URL for a web site elsewhere on the World Wide Web.

If you click Browse Files, you'll be prompted to select the web page file you want to link to.

Otherwise, you can Write in a URL of site that you already know, as shown below:

You can also use the cirlce tool to select a linked "hot spot".

When you're done, close the image editor and then view your web page in the browser.

Don't forget to consoldate your images so that everything is in the same folder!
