cars for the movie on set

Here are some of the cars used during the movie. These cars were owned by a man named Irv Gooch.
Ronny GoochIrv Gooch is from the
State of New Jersey. He began with just one car which was not enough for the movie that was being made. To get more cars he would need to be paid upfront. This proved to be difficult since most of the film makers did not have faith in him.

He did however find one person who did in fact have faith in him. He was aided by Director Spike Lee, while working in the upcoming movie "Summer of Sam". Spike Lee gave him the money and also allowed him to keep the cars he bought with it.

THE
MOVIE MAKING STRUCTURE

It takes a lot of organization and cooperation to create a movie. Movie production has its own hierarchy. On the top of this pyramid is the director. The director is the person in charge, his job is to decide how the movie will be shown to his viewers.

Under the director is the assistant directors. Their job is to create the image that the director envisions. For example, if the director needs more light, then the first person he will inform is his assistant director.

Film Crew at Work

On a steamy July afternoon Harlemlive reporters explored the setting of a historical movie that was being created.

The setting was like something never experienced before by any one of our youthful generation. There were many instruments and terms given to them which was not known by the everyday person. For example, a bathroom would be called the honey pot.

The name of the movie was "The Cradle Will Rock".

Joe Grant and Tim Robbins

Tim Robbins tells us the hardest part about being a director.

The Director of the movie,Tim Robbins, nominated for an academy award for Best Director in the movie "Dead Man Walking", generously took time off from the set to speak to us. He is a man who inspires others to strive hard for their goals.

Tim shares briefly, why he chose Harlem to shoot.

Background actor, Ronny ClaytonThe first person who we met was named Ronny Clayton. His role in the movie was as a background actor. Background actor Ronny Clayton He was a very stern polite gentleman who seemed to enjoy his acting career. He said that in the movie business there are no such things as small parts there are only small actors. He asked that the youth of Harlem strive to become whatever they want to be.

The second person who we met was a man by the name of Scott Gregoire his position was Motion Picture Studio Electrician.

Scott Gregoire and Dr.Vicki Golson

Throughout the time that we spent on the set there were many celebrities popping around the movie set. While we're taking photo's we happened to come across one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, the star of the hit movie "Groundhog Day", Bill Murray.

As Bill Murray walked on the sidewalk, fans ran towards him for autographs also he waved to many people who were cheering him like he was an athlete who just won the Olympics. Bill Murray asked that the youth of today compile all of the knowledge that is given to them.
