Today I went to the hip-hop exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. There I met all types of people that listened to all types and styles of hip-hop music. The first person I interviewed was a 65 year old woman named Rosely and her opinion on hip-hop was, "I donıt know much about hip hop but I think itıs a really great thing that they started a museum. It invites people to respond with their culture. When you think of a museum you think of ancient artifacts, and treasures, but what you find in this museum is different ages of hip hop."

It was by coincidence that I met Rosely because she didnıt know that there was a hip hop exhibit. She was there to see an artist Lee Crasnerıs artwork. Rosely said, "I can see hip hop evolving in the future because everything evolves" like the different types of hip hop.

Certain people think that hip hop is important, such as Dorian, a 22 year old student attending Marymount University. She says, " Yes! Hip hop is a part of our history and culture like jazz and dance. Iıve been interested in hip hop and itıs culture now for a very long time and Iım writing a paper based on hip hop. I thought this would be a good place to start. The first time I heard hip hop was in the 80ıs. I remember my cousinsı break dancing on the floor. The thing I enjoy the most about hip hop is the dancing because it influences me. I like to dance; Iım a hip hop choreographer. "

I asked Dorian where she sees hip-hop going in the future and she said, "Itıs difficult because true hip hop will stay underground; everything pure will always stay underground."

The last people interviewed were two friends Alexis is 22 years of age and works at a Law Fern, Kadie is 23 years of age and works as an advertiser. They both live in Brooklyn and said, "hip hop is very important. It influences people and our society needs it", say Alexis. Kadie said, "This exhibit is introducing a whole art form of hip hop and it's music."

Both Alexis and Kadie said that they had heard about the hip-hop exhibit about three or four months ago. They thought it would be great to come here because "it lets people judge for themselves what they think about hip-hop." Alexis and Kadie heard hip-hop for the first time when they were in elementary school.

Kadie say's, " I enjoy hip-hop because and how it influences the way we speak, dress and think. A lot of people want to make hip hop something negative when it's not." Alexis said, " I like everything about hip hop the music, the message it gives to people, the beat and style."

Come and visit the hip hop exhibit at the Brooklyn Meuseum of art while it last. Alexis and Kadie: "I think hip hop will contiue in the same path because it heavity influences people all over the world."
