Final Destination 2 The sequel is the story of a bunch of people meeting because of a traffic accident due to a premonition by freshman in college. What transpires is a rush to save the life of an unborn child. Jan. 31
The Recruit Set at the "secret" CIA training facility called the Farm at Camp Peary in Virginia, a young agent trainee (Farrell) suspects his instructor (Pacino) (and others at the Farm) of being a double agent for the Chinese government... Jan. 31
Daredevil Several years ago, the son of a boxer, Matthew Murdock (Affleck) rescued a man from being hit by a truck, but in doing so, was himself hit by a strange radioactive isotope, that left Murdock blind... or so he let people think. Though his eyes no longer functioned, Matt gained a radar-like ability which he kept secret. Years later, Matt has become an attorney working in the rough Hell's Kitchen section of New York City. At night, he uses his strange ability, years of physical training, a souped-up billyclub, and red tights (complete with a horned mask) to become... Daredevil. Feb. 14
The Life of David Gale This film tells the story of what happens when Dr. David Gale (Spacey), a Texas professor and advocate for the elimination of the death penalty, is falsely accused and convicted of the rape and murder of another activist, Constance Harraway (Linney) and ends up on the state's notorious death row himself. The movie unfolds in a series of flashbacks, as Gale tells his story to a reporter (Winslet) visiting him on death row. (Mann plays the reporter's intern.) Feb. 21
Phone Booth A slick New York publicist (Farrell) who picks up a ringing receiver in a phone booth is told that if he hangs up, he'll be killed... and the little red light from an infrared rifle sight is proof that the caller isn't kidding. (Eldard plays the sniper; Mitchell plays the publicist's wife; Liotta, Whitaker, and Jones play cops) March 14
Identity Reminiscent of Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians, this is the story of ten complete strangers who are stranded at a remote desert motel during a raging storm who soon find themselves being murdered... as their numbers thin out, like the cast of CBS's Survivor, they turn on each other, as each tries to figure out who is the killer... March 21
The Core When something happens to cause the core of the planet to change in temperature, threatening to stop the planet from revolving, a band of NASA "terranauts" (led by a geophysics professor played by Eckhart) is formed to pilot an experimental deep-earth ship to try to fix it by setting off a nuclear detonation. (Swank plays the ship's pilot; Karyo plays a Russian "high-energy" weapons specialist; Woodard plays a NASA control chief) March 28
Dreamcatcher Four men (Jane, Lewis, Lee, Olyphant) in Derry, Maine, who have been friends since childhood reunite for a hunting trip to a cabin deep in the northern Maine woods called "Hole in the Wall." Tied together through a telepathic bond they gained as children (gained while saving a Down Syndrome child played by Wahlberg from bullies), the arrival of a strange man to their cabin soon plunges the four friends into a fight against an invading alien force that takes control of human beings like puppets... (Freeman plays a military leader sent to deal with the situation; Sizemore plays one of the soldiers underneath him; Jane plays a psychiatrist.) March 28
X-Men 2 The X-Men have opponents new and old to face this time around. Magneto is back, but there is also a threat to Professor Xavier's School for Mutants led by a human named Stryker. May 2
Matrix: Reloaded Neo, Morpheus, Trinity and the rest of their crew continue to battle the machines that have enslaved the human race in the Matrix. Now, more humans are waking up out of the Matrix and attempting to live in the real world. May 15
Bruce Almighty Having a particularly bad day, persistent complainer Bruce Nolan (Carrey) curses God (Freeman) for all that's wrong in the world... so the Almighty confronts him, and challenges him to try to do a better job, with some teeth. Bruce has just one day to make the world a better place, or God will bring forth an apocalyptic cataclysm that would hurtle mankind back to the Dark Ages... (Aniston plays Bruce's girlfriend; Walker plays her sister; Bell plays one of Bruce's coworkers, a news anchorwoman) May 23
Finding Nemo This is described as a "father-son underwater adventure featuring Nemo, a boy clownfish (Gould), stolen from his coral reef home. His timid father must then search the ocean to find him." (source: Pixar, by way of The Hollywood Reporter) (6/12/02) A much more detailed version of the premise is now online over at ComingSoon.net. From it, we learn that Nemo ends up in a dentist's office fish tank, and that his father, Marlin, goes on a journey into the world of men accompanied by a Regal Blue Tang fish named Dory. There's also names and images of several of the other fish there. May 30
The Hulk In this adaptation of the long-running comic, The Incredible Hulk, research scientist Dr. Bruce Banner's failed experiments cause him to mutate into a monstrously powerful and savage green-skinned behemoth, whenever he loses control of his emotions. June 20
Charlie’s Angels 2 Full Throttle The "Angels", three investigative agents (Barrymore, Diaz and Liu) who work for the Charles Townsend Detective Agency, return for another high-octane series of adventures as they investigate the theft of a database of witness protection profiles, after five of the people on the list are murdered. They're aided by a new Bosley (Bernie Mac), in an adventure which pits them against a "fallen angel" (Moore), their old nemesis, the Thin Man (Glover), and others. June 27
Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines This third film will tell the tale of the first battles between humans and the artificial intellgences of the SkyNet network. John Connor (played by Edward Furlong in the 2nd movie) will be the star. (7/12/00) The advanced android that Schwarzenegger will be going up against will be female this time around. July 2
Bad Boyz 2 Not much is known yet about this sequel's premise, except that it returns us to the careers of a pair Miami police detectives (Lawrence, Smith) who are on a case that takes them to London, and that it involves the half-sister, Syd Burnett (Union), of Lawrence's character, who's an undercover agent pretending to launder dirty money July 18
When Harry Met Lloyd: Dumb and Dumberer Set in 1986 when mentally challenged best friends Harry (Richarson) and Lloyd (Olsen) were teenagers, this is the madcap comic tale of their attempt to get out of the "special needs" department and into regular high school life. (Guzman plays the school janitor who adopts Lloyd; Levy plays the school principal; Rogers plays Harry's Mom; Oteri plays a cafeteria worker-turned-special education teacher.) July 18
Tomb Raider 2 Cradle of Life This time around, archaeologist and explorer extraordinaire journeys to a temple, sunken underwater, that leads to a sphere that contains the mythical Pandora's Box, only to have it stolen from her by Chen Lo, the leader of a Chinese crime syndicate, who's in league with a bad guy named Reiss who wants to use the Box as a doomsday weapon... July 25
Kill Bill In this film noir tale, an assassin called the Bride (Thurman) is shot down, with child, by her employer (and recent bridesgroom), Bill (Carradine) and other members of their assassin circle, at her wedding (along with everyone at the wedding). She, however, survives, though a bullet in her brain keeps her in a coma for five years. She wakes up PISSED OFF, soon setting out to seek... revenge. She seeks out the various members of the assassin group, globetrotting to kill them each in order, saving Bill for last. Oct. 10

Cat in the Hat A bored little boy (Breslin) and girl (Fanning) are visited on a rainy day, while their mother (Preston) is away, by a Cat in a Hat (Myers), along with Thing #1 and Thing #2, who quickly proceed to make a mess of the house. Nov. 21
Lord of the Rings 3: Return of the King The third of the trilogy. As the shadow of Mordor grows across the land, Aragorn is revealed as the hidden heir to the ancient kings. Gandolf miraculously returns and defeats the evil wizard, Saruman. Sam leaves his master for the dead after a battle with the giant spider, Shelob; but Frodo is still alive. Dec. 13
