What are some films that you have worked on? I know that you have done some underground films already

I do french underground movies. Their really different from American underground. I’ve worked with french director Jean Paul, and working with him and other french directors allows me to express myself in a totally different light, the roles are more passionate. Right now i’m going to meet with a couple of producers in L.A. for a role and I feel real confident about it. I think i’m a good actor (snicker)

Who is your dream director or actor or actress to work with?

I like John singelton, his movies are powerful, he’s very talented. His stories are true and deep. Spike lee is great also, but John is definetly the man.

You come from a Haitian “ghetto” how do you relate to the youth here in harlem, and ghetto’s throughout the world?

Ghetto has no color, ghetto has no country, ghetto is just ghetto. Some on the other hand maybe worse than others, for instance Haiti’s version in my opinion is the worst. We didn’t even have light posts, we had to walk 20 30 blocks for clean water. It wasn’t an easy life. I thank god for blessing me. For giving me trhe success that I have now, now I just have to give what I have back to the ghetto’s of the world.

Tell me about your foundation One Heart

One Heart is a foundation to help impoverished kids around the world. Helping them by raising money and providing education. If you give food and no education then their is no point. Education sometimes is more important than a peice of meat and bread.

How is One Heart funded?

I basically put it together out of my own pocket. I then got some help from some corporate friends of mine in Conneticut and also my manager. A good friend of mine, Wyclef, also helps out, he’s really avid about it. Its basically me and my friends.

What came first modeling or the foundation?

Modeling was first. I started the foundation last year. I’ve been in modeling for three years now.

What are you primarily concentrating on now, modeling or the foundation?

I’m concentrating on both. I spend alot of time on both. I sacrifice alot of my modeling to meet with people to help launch the foundation but I’m trying to balance the two. I love modeling, i used to not think of it as a career, acting I always felt was a career, and besides many people percceive models to be dumb, I’m just trying to change the rules.

I heard that you are trying to raise money for the World Trade center victims

I’m doing a signing on October 27, saturday, at HMV on 125th street in harlem. I have alot of models coming in to support. The proceeds will go to the victims of the september 11th tragedy.
