My Trip to Egypt: A Series

HarlemLive just 'graduated' 20 students who are now HL Alumni. One of them, DeVan Hankerson, traveled to Egypt this summer during the month of July. She traveled with the International Youth Leadership Institute (IYLI) to experience African culture.

During her stay in Africa, she taught English classes for elementary school students, building schools and absorbing the African culture. While there, DeVan recorded her activities and experiences in her journal ranging from getting ripped off at the market to finally feeling like a true "Nubian."
